Wonder why there haven’t been many postings lately?
Well, besides breaking to enjoy the last days of summer in the UP, I’ve been wrapping
up Book Two of the Mackinac Trilogy. “Witnessed – Measures of Love” is
now in final edit and should be available soon. Here is a sneak peek at the cover art.
If you’d like to see the beginnings of the cover for Book Three, let me know.
I don’t have the model shots yet to Photo Shop into it, but the background shot
and title and sub-title are ready. Oh yes, and I have to finish writing the book.
Seven chapters so far and, as you know, I like to write while flying to distract me from
the fact that I am in a little metal capsule high above the clouds, trusting pilots I know nothing about.
And I am flying soon! Always great to write when fear is present and emotions are high.
Adds that extra verve to the novel!
Very exciting! Melissa can swoon over Takoda again!

Book Review by Captain Jay, aboard motor yacht “Wishes Granted” while cruising the southern waters of Florida” of “Discovered, the Cross of Lorraine”, written by Charlene Kull:
This morning at 10:30 I finally pick up your book and started reading it. It immediately captured my interest, and I never put the book down until I finished it.
Your story and writing style immediately attracted my attention. You have developed a wonderful talent and skill for crafting your written words in a manner that gives real life to the drama as your written images and emotions literally jump off the paper and directly into the imagination and emotional centers of my mind.
I really appreciated the fact that you immediately started the story with drama and mystery, as well as, your method of introducing characters and their background information when they first appeared in the story. You used the same method for revealing background information about geographic points of interest and their local stories. All of this added an extra dimension of interest to the story while creating a sense of anxiousness for me and my need to learn the outcome for the plot. I also experienced a bit of anxiety as the crews of the Nancy J and Golden Lady fumbled with the life ring that later was a major key to her rescue. I wanted to grab the gaff pole and hook the ring for them.
I witnessed in your writings many examples of simple but lively expressions that if used in my everyday conversation would add more expression to my basic message and possibly create more interest on the part of my listener. Example (Book 1, page 3): “…Triggered her mother’s sudden urge to decompress and rebalance…” rather than she stopped to take a deep breath. You should consider publishing a list of colorfully alternative expressions for everyday living.
I have also read book 2 and am anxious for to get my hands on book 3 as soon as it is published. While I am “way over the hill in age” from being a teenager, your creative writing brings youth back to my heart and soul. Thanks for creating such interesting adventure! While every day is an adventure for me, your book turbo charges my spirit.
